“Synchronicity”

“Synchronicity”

A frequent word I hear in many conversations where others are engaged in locating a higher, deeper, or more essential purpose for themselves is the term “synchronicity.” One of my favorite writers today—Paulo Coelho— speaks to those moments when we sense a timeliness or coordination of certain events in our lives that anticipate or even seem to maneuver a shift in our life direction. But more than this, the author gives a broader intuitive reason why these moments occur. It means we’re on the trail of something larger than ourselves that is calling us, something magnificent.

“…really important meetings are planned by the souls long before the bodies see each other. Generally, speaking, these meetings occur when we reach a limit, when we need to die and be reborn emotionally. These meetings are waiting for us, but more often than not, we avoid them happening. If we are desperate, though, if we have nothing to lose, or if we are full of enthusiasm for life, then the unknown reveals itself, and our universe changes direction.
