About the Breaking Open Project
The title of this collection (taken from the song that bears
the same name), is a telling of the universal story of the
inner seasons of the heart. The heart's rhythm follows the
patterns of the seasons. Throughout one’s life the human
heart - known in mystical literature as the place where divine
love grows - is continually presented with opportunities to
expand, to break, and ultimately, to transform into higher
expressions of love. It is in this sense that these songs may
rightly be called "soul" music. May these songs be
a gift of encouragement and recognition to all those who are "on
the journey" cultivating the Good Heart and farming the
Field of Soul.
All songs written and sung by Neale Lundgren except "Heartblood," lyrics
by Neale Lundgren & David Bankston and "Before the
Morning Light," lyrics by Neale Lundgren & Melinda
Hawley.
